Reminders as we move into the holiday szn
The holiday season can be...a lot.

This is your sign friend - breathe.
Hey y’all - I’m gonna keep this post mostly short and sweet.
It’s the end of October and if you haven’t seen it already in the ads on your TikTok or during commercial breaks from your favorite shows — the holidays are here.
But if we’re being realllll honest…it’s all a distraction from what’s been really going on in our current state of affairs.
Don’t worry I’m not gonna rehash or trigger you cause 😮💨
Just thought you could use these friendly reminders as we move into this heavy season. Cause Lord knows I need ‘em!
1️⃣ It’s ok to unplug
This year I feel like I’ve been more plugged into the news than I’ve ever been but that can come at a cost of my mental. Social media also doesn’t help especially when I’m constantly online, trying to make sure I stay on top of what’s happening, trending, etc. But — a reminder: unplug y’all. Put time limits on the apps you’re on the most, put your phone in another room so you can give your eyes a break, whatever you need just — unplug.
2️⃣ Allow yourself to play
If there’s one thing I love about my algorithm — especially on TikTok — is that I will get the creators who talk about nurturing your inner child and I love that for me. One of the things I kept getting reminded about was playing — letting your creativity roam free, playing games you used to enjoy as a kid (couldn’t tell me nothing with a good ol’ board game 😆 ), or even getting in a fun hobby. Whatever the thing you want to do, just allow yourself to play.
3️⃣ Take things slow
If you’re anything like me, you know the minute you wake up your brain starts to analyze how the day will look and what you need to do to achieve max productivity so you don’t beat up your mental later. Uh-uh 😤. Me personally, what I’ve done (especially in the mornings) is stretch and meditate. In that order. It allows me to start my days slower and with more intention vs my anxiety switching into beast mode first thing.
4️⃣ Be in company with others (virtually or IRL)
Seasonal depression is a thing, and it can be even worse when you’re by yourself or not around loved ones. I encourage you to do what it takes to be with others during this season. Even if that means going somewhere with people — sometimes just the immersion of being in a space with others can help. If not, FaceTime and WhatsApp can be the next best thing.
5️⃣ Breathe
Something so simple, but so needed — especially if you’re the type to be doing a million things in a day and crash by the time the day ends. Just start with a deep breath and holding for 5 seconds then repeating as many times as you need.
As we head into the holidays, remember: it’s ok to be still, breathe, and protect your peace. You deserve that. 🤎
Now Before You Go…
Do you like silly little treats?
I thought so. 😁
You deserve to treat yourself, so I just have one favor to ask.
I still have a survey going on for feedback on my content and getting to know you so I’d love your input, friend! Once you complete the survey, you’ll get a $15 Visa gift card from me to purchase your silly little treat. 😉
And yes, you’re welcome! 😄
Until next time - Angela 🤎
